Character Does Matter
Travis Manion Foundation Mentor Program
Service Description
This presentation focuses on four character strengths, chosen to suit the needs of your school and reinforce the character education that you teach in the classroom. TMF’s Character Does Matter program provides mentorship for students and a renewed sense of purpose and camaraderie for veterans and survivors with the goal of uniting communities to strengthen America’s national character. Throughout this presentation, students will hear real-world examples of people who cultivated their personal strengths and made an impact on the world. We hope that this inspires students to think about their own strengths and how to be better leaders within their schools, families, and friends. We also hope to inspire your students to live by our motto, “If Not Me, Then Who…”, words spoken before our namesake, Marine 1st Lt. Travis Manion left for his second and final deployment. Although we are named after a fallen hero, our organization is not a military recruitment tool. We focus solely on cultivating character and believe that our volunteers have unique perspectives to offer our country’s young leaders.
